Stop the Toxic Tourism Tax

HELP STOP THE TOXIC TOURISM TAX

As your Senedd Member, I want to hear about the issues that matter most to you — including your experiences with the tourism tax and whether it should be reversed.

The Welsh Government currently applies a tourism tax in certain circumstances, and many people across Swansea and Gower have told me they are concerned about these charges — particularly at a time when families are facing rising costs and local businesses are under pressure.

I also hear from residents who feel the focus should be on supporting families, local services, and the tourism industry, rather than additional charges.

Like many local people, I have serious concerns about whether this tax is fair and whether it is the right priority for Wales right now.

That’s why I want to hear directly from you.

I hold regular advice surgeries to help local people with issues or concerns, and over the past few years I’ve met thousands of residents from across our communities.

However, I understand that attending a surgery isn’t always convenient.

That’s why I’m asking you to complete this short survey — so I can better understand your views on the tourism tax and ensure the voices of people in Swansea and Gower are properly heard.

Your responses will help me continue to challenge unfair charges and represent the views of local people.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views.
