It was a real pleasure to be invited by Gower Ladies Circle to speak at their most recent meeting at Murton Community Centre.
The room was packed and it was great to see so many people come along to take part in the discussion. During the meeting, I spoke about my background, how I first got involved in politics, and the journey that led me to where I am today. I also shared some of my thoughts on what needs to change if we are going to fix Wales and deliver the improvements people want to see in their communities.
One of the best parts of the evening was the question and answer session. We had a lively and thoughtful discussion on a wide range of issues, from the 20mph speed limits to the NHS, as well as a number of other local and national topics that matter to residents. It was encouraging to hear so many perspectives and to have such open and constructive conversations.
I’m very grateful to Gower Ladies Circle for the invitation and for such a warm welcome. Events like this are a great opportunity to listen, share ideas and discuss the challenges facing our communities. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
