It was great to attend this year’s Welsh Conservative Party Conference in the fantastic seaside town of Llandudno.
Conference is always an important opportunity to bring together members, activists and elected representatives from across Wales. It provides a chance to reflect on the challenges facing our country, discuss new ideas and focus on the priorities that matter most to the people we represent.
Over the course of the weekend there were a wide range of discussions about the future of Wales and how we can deliver better outcomes for communities right across the country. It was encouraging to hear so many thoughtful contributions from colleagues, campaigners and grassroots members who are all committed to improving public services and supporting local communities.
Events like this also offer a valuable chance to catch up with colleagues from across Wales, share experiences from our constituencies and talk about the issues residents raise with us every day.
It was also great to speak on stage and introduce, as Chair of the Armed Forces CPG, former veterans as we held a panel on what more can be done for former service members.
As the Senedd Member for Swansea East, it was important for me to ensure that the voices of people from Swansea are part of these national conversations. Whether the topic is the cost of living, the NHS, transport or opportunities for economic growth, it’s vital that we continue working together to deliver the changes people want to see.
