Reverse Senedd Expansion

HAVE YOUR SAY ON SENEDD EXPANSION

As your Senedd Member, I want to hear about the issues that matter most to you — including your views on the Welsh Government’s plans to expand the Senedd.

The Welsh Government is pushing ahead with plans to increase the number of Senedd Members and change how elections to the Welsh Parliament work. These changes will affect how Wales is represented for many years to come.

Many people across Swansea and Gower have told me they are concerned about these plans — particularly at a time when families are facing rising costs and many public services are under pressure.

I also hear from residents who feel politicians should be focusing on the issues that matter most to them, such as the cost of living, the NHS, transport and local services.

Like many local people, I have serious concerns about these proposals and whether expanding the Senedd is the right priority for Wales right now.

That’s why I want to hear directly from you.

I hold regular advice surgeries to help local people with issues or concerns, and over the past few years I’ve met thousands of residents from across our communities.

However, I understand that attending a surgery isn’t always convenient.

That’s why I’m asking you to complete this short survey — so I can better understand your views on the plans to expand the Senedd and ensure the voices of people in Swansea and Gower are properly heard.

Your response will help me continue to challenge these proposals and represent the views of local people.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views.

The Welsh Labour Government will create 36 extra politicians at the next election at a cost of £120M. Local Plaid, Lib Dem and Reform candidates also support the plans, while the Welsh Conservatives oppose them. Do you...?
Should any changes to the number of Senedd Members or the voting system be subject to a referendum?
Did you know the voting system in Wales is also changing to accommodate the additional Members of the Senedd?
If the £120M costs associated with Senedd expansion were available, where should the money be prioritised?
